Baldivis Greenhouse expression of interest

Media statement

  • Opportunity to operate a greenhouse facility in Baldivis

  • Expression of interest open until 2 August 2024

The Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation (GKB), in partnership with the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC), invites expressions of interest from individuals, businesses and organisations - particularly Indigenous led businesses and organisations - interested in leasing the Baldivis Greenhouse property.

The Greenhouse presents a unique opportunity to operate a state-of-the-art greenhouse facility while supporting benefits for the Indigenous community.

Encompassing a fully functioning, fully automated, Cravo greenhouse facility, the property offers significant scope for uncompromised year-round growing conditions.

The property includes two non-contiguous allotments made up of Lot 1 and Lot 849 Eighty Road, Baldivis.

To register your interest and obtain an application package, contact the ILSC by 2 August 2024 by email at westernoffice@ilsc.gov.au.

GKB CEO, Bruce Jorgensen, said “This is a fantastic opportunity for an indigenous led business to be involved at the cutting edge of modern methods of growing food with an enormous fully automated greenhouse.

We would love to see a Noongar entity involved, as it would bring wonderful flow on effects to the Noongar community through jobs, training, and potentially degree-level education. Modern technology meeting thousands of years of culture knowledge of bush tucker and bush medicine is a fascinating concept.

The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation is a valued partner of the Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation, and we appreciate the support and professional capability that they bring to this process.”
