Joint management of Dryandra Woodland National Park
The Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation and GKB Impact has entered into a joint management arrangement of the Dryandra Woodland National Park.
The new partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) is a significant milestone for the Corporation.
Dryandra Woodland National Park spans nearly 18,000 hectares and is located near Narrogin. This area is culturally significant to Noongar People.
GKB Impact Rangers will work collaboratively with our Traditional Custodians and DBCA on conservation and natural resource management activities, cultural fire management, visitor services and education, cultural heritage protection, and facility maintenance, to contribute to the health, sustainability, and accessibility of the National Park for everyone to enjoy now, and into the future.
The eucalypt woodland features white-barked wandoo and paperbark trees, and is home to incredible wildlife including numbats, woylies, echidnas, brushtail possums, chuditch, quenda, malleefowl, tawny frogmouths, tammar wallabies, and kangaroos.
We look forward to further opportunities to manage Boodja across the region.
